Bio: Hello, I work in quality assurance for a small manufacturer located in Cincinnati, OH. ¶ When I started there in 2007 I had learned that the company had been sold by its founder to a trio of internal managers. The primary focus of improving/developing new products remained intact, as well as the culture that employees were like a family. It is through my personal experience that I have gained an appreciation for that which has made our free enterprise system great--namely the basics: innovation, competition, independence, personal communication from those on top with those on the front lines, altruism--where the desire to manipulate employees, customers and/or the competition is not of concern. ¶ I consider myself a renaissance man--hence the title of this blog. I read a variety of news sources--looking for in-depth articles, not just headlines. Besides writing editorials, I play the guitar and piano and am learning songwriting. I paint with oil and sketch with pencils, particularly buildings and people. I also am active in both French and German conversation groups.
